FAFSA Opens in December

This year the FAFSA opens in December for the 2025-2026 academic year. Usually the application is made available in October of each year, but they are changing the application in significant ways and need more time.

According to Forbes, "Students often skip filling out the FAFSA because they think their families make too much money to qualify for aid. However, there are no FAFSA income limits, so you can submit it—and potentially get valuable financial aid—regardless of your family’s earnings."

We agree and encourage all our families to fill out the FAFSA.

You can create an FSA ID now, so you can fill out the FAFSA once it's available.

Also, be sure to fill out required financial aid papers for the colleges you’re applying to. Many colleges have their own financial aid forms, in addition to the FAFSA.
